Experience the power of pregnancy with Prenatal Yoga. This series will be taught by Kiersten Labzda, certified pre-natal yoga teacher. Kiersten shares the secrets to a safe and empowering pregnancy, labor, and birth in this prenatal yoga series. Yoga can be an ideal way to stay in shape during pregnancy. The practice keeps you limber, tones your muscles, and improves your balance and circulation, with little, if any, impact on your joints. Yoga is also beneficial because it helps you learn to breathe deeply and relax, which will come in handy as you face the physical demands of labor, birth, and motherhood. Taking a prenatal yoga class is also a great way to meet other pregnant women — to become part of a community. Kiersten themes each of her prenatal yoga classes to guide women through the different stages or pregnancy. She teaches specific yoga poses, movements, and breathing techniques that are effective in labor and birth. Kiersten’s ultimate goal as a teacher is to empower her students, build strength, and help students to be open to the powerful transformation that pregnancy brings.
The philosophy of this class is for new mothers and babies to come together in community as a continuation of our Prenatal Yoga program. Each class will led by 500 hour registered yoga teacher, certified doula and certified pre/postnatal yoga teacher, Kiersten Labzda. Classes will open with a discussion followed by an asana practice designed to reintegrate the core and pelvic floor muscles, to alleviate stress and fatigue, and to play and connect with baby. Babies are welcome to be held, worn, placed down, nursed, soothed or passed around….the idea is that anything goes within this environment of acceptance and support!
