Drishti Power Yoga teaches Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga, Power Yoga Basics, Yin Yoga and Meditation. Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga is a method of hot power yoga founded by Baron Baptiste. It is a fluid, physical and well-rounded practice that consists of approximately 60 poses done over 75 or 90 minutes. Each class is taught in a heated room to help cleanse the body and warm the muscles. With an emphasis on linking breath with movement, students flow from one posture to the next and this movement provides a strong cardiovascular element. The All Levels Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga class is a specifically sequenced set of postures designed to tone and detoxify your body. It is a challenging, fluid and well-rounded practice that consists of approximately 60 poses done over 75 or 90 minutes in a heated room (95-105 degrees). This class is for all levels from the beginner to the advanced student.
One hour version of the All Levels power yoga class. The room is heated to 95-105 degrees.
Same great workout, just taught at a little slower pace with a little less heat. This class is heated 85-90 degrees and is based on the same great sequence found in our Power Hour and All Levels Power Vinyasa classes. This class still flows, but moves at a slightly slower pace with special emphasis given to the building blocks of your yoga practice, such as Ujjayi breathing, healthy alignment, mindfulness, linking breath with movement and modifications.
Set to MUSIC, this All Levels Baptiste Power Vinyasa Yoga class is a challenging, fluid and well-rounded practice that consists of approximately 55 poses done over 75 minutes in a heated room (100-105 degrees). This fun, energetic class is for all levels from the beginner to the advanced student.
This class includes a gentle warm-up to loosen tight muscles, shake off the day, and come into the breath that flows right into a Yin style class. Although Drishti Power Yoga is a power yoga studio, the Yin Yoga practice helps to bring balance to the Yang of the heated power yoga practice as well as the Yang of modern-day life (busy, going, doing…). Power Vinyasa Yoga (Yang) emphasizes movement, muscular strength and endurance, Yin focuses on stillness, long passive holds of poses, and letting gravity do the work. The Yin practice works deeply into the connective tissues to lengthen ligaments, tendons, and fascia, thereby healing joints and increasing flexibility. Yin classes are held in a non-heated room. The practice is still and quiet with minimal standing poses and little talking. This quiet space allows students to go within and listen closely to the messages the body has to offer that will guide you to balance.
